There’s no way to avoid stress. It’s one of the more constant things in life that you cannot escape from. But how you handle and react to it is something you can have control over.
However a lot of us do not know how to properly deal with stress. Over time we developed certain habits we thought are helpful in fighting stress but only to discover that they’re the same habits that intensify the stress we are experiencing.
Have you experienced having too much on your mind? It’s as if there are so much going on in it that even when you are already asleep you still feel like your brain is in motion as if it’s going through several tasks and recalling events instead of just laying still and resting? That regardless of how much work you’ve done there are still so many left to do. That despite of working so hard you still feel like you haven’t done enough. Or maybe you just keep on having these bad thoughts that make you believe of unpleasant things to happen.
Time’s like these we can’t help but experience extreme stress. The overload of information, the seemingly incessant calls to do things in a rush, and the endless worrying about bad things from happening often result to burn out.
When you reach this point in your life then you better consider making a halt at whatever you are doing. Whether you believe me or not, it requires some serious decluttering on your part!!
Getting rid of any “excess baggage” in our minds will greatly help us focus on things that are of utmost importance. Rather than draining our energy on doing tasks that are not after all relevant to our goals in life.
Entertaining negative thoughts is one habit that many of us are guilty of. We simply allow ourselves to be overwhelmed by negative energies that are very much hazardous to our mental and physical health.
Since our mood is very powerful, what we often think about will most likely translate into reality. So when we think that only bad things will happen, that we are not capable of doing certain things then most likely it will happen. As we close our minds to the possibility of things we also block off our ability to recognize opportunities that we come across with. Doing so tends to lead us to underestimate our own capabilities.
So declutter your mind!
Free yourself from unnecessary information. Make a list of tasks you need to complete every day. This will help you prioritize and recognize which activities are most relevant to your overall goals. This will also minimize the stress as you empty your ideas out onto a page instead of storing everything you need to remember in your brain. As you do this you allow fresh ideas to materialize as well as enable you to become more creative and innovative when formulating solutions to the issues and challenges you may be currently facing.
Most importantly keep an open mind and welcome positive energies to rule your life. Always say to yourself that you can do whatever it is you want to pursue. Open up your doors to the many possibilities that are just waiting out there for you.
Whether we like it or not, we can never escape from the stresses of our daily lives. More than 90% of our time is spent facing all sorts of stressors. For those who cannot cope, could cost them their jobs, for some their sanity. Continue reading →
